TRAINING PROCEDURE POLICY
Electro Technical Services Ltd (ETS) specifically refer to training including induction training and further training.
Therefore, we have included a suggested induction training procedure and a record form for recording skills based training.
Health and Safety Training of Employees
Under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations, made under the Act,
employers should have regard to the capability of employees to carry out work activities safely and without risks to health.
MSS will therefore ensure that appropriate training is given to employees in the following circumstances:
- a Upon recruitment (ie health and safety induction training);
- a When they change their job or their responsibilities within the organisation;
- a When new equipment or technology is introduced or when existing equipment is significantly modified;
- a When any system of work changes.
In order to ensure effective and efficient management of health and safety ETS will ensure that appointed supervisors receive
suitable health and safety awareness training in order to make them fully aware of their duties and responsibilities.
ETS supervisors should monitor the action of employees and be fully aware of the company’s disciplinary procedure
in the event of employees found working unsafely or failing to wear Personal protective equipment, etc.
Safety Awareness Training for Managers and Supervisors
In order to achieve acceptable standards of safety within the workplace it is particularly important that managers and
supervisors understand their roles, duties and responsibilities in order to comply with health and safety legislation.
ETS will therefore arrange for appropriate safety awareness training to be given to relevant individuals eg managers,
supervisors, to make them aware of legislation, codes of practice, internal company policies, disciplinary procedures etc.
Where training has been given appropriate records will be kept.
